New York, NY March 1, 2005 - Command Financial Press today announced the successful launch of an innovative web-based secure solution for content management and prospectus automation that makes it easier, faster and cheaper for investment companies to produce these recurrent mandatory financial documents.

The Command Automated Publishing System (CAPS) empowers authorized clients to manage, assemble and update from their own premises information that needs to be used in multiple or recurrent documents such as prospectuses -all using the familiar commands of Microsoft Word and Excel.

"While the printing process and printed documents are a part of our services to the investment company industry, a larger part of the value that we bring to our clients lies in designing and building tools and innovative services such as CAPS that help create accurate documents faster and more economically," said James Penders, president of New York-based Command Financial Press.

CAPS was developed from an end-user perspective over two years and at a cost of more than $1.5 million by a team headed by a ‘40 Act attorney. It allows text and table editing in the familiar Microsoft Word and Excel environments, meaning that clients can enjoy:

  • Improved efficiencies from using information that can be "repurposed" rather than redrafted;
  • Improved accuracy through reduction of incomplete, inaccurate or misleading content and compliance material in a prospectus—a fundamental issue in the age of Sarbanes-Oxley;
  • Reduced potential liability through reinforced accuracy;
  • Faster creation of financial, legal and shareholder documents;
  • Lower attorney review costs;
  • Reduced costs associated with EDGAR;
  • Decreased printer and composition costs.
